Bath Lifts
If you like the luxury of a soak and find it difficult to lower yourself into the bath then a bath lift may be the answer. A bath lift is designed to lower you from the bath rim to the bottom of the bath, and back again. Most bathlifts are motorised and are powered by a rechargeable battery. The bath lift will be controlled by a remote control handset which will allow you to select up or down accordingly. We offer both inflatable and motorised bath lifts which are of course completely safe for use within a wet bathroom environment.
All motorised bath lifts are programmed to stop the bath lift from lowering you down if there is not enough battery power to bring you back up again.
Paediatric - Childrens Bathing
Childrens Bathing section has a wide range of seating systems for children, to be used in the bath and around the home. They have been designed to assist in the bathing of children and is particularly suitable for children with limited upper body stability.
Waterproof Cast and Bandage Protectors
Waterproof cast and bandage protectors give you the freedom to bathe or shower and keep your wound or plaster dry, they are self-sealing, self-supporting garments which prevent the penetration of water to plaster casts and wound dressings on arms or legs during bathing. They are simple and comfortable to use and will last through the average user’s duration of treatment (6 - 8 weeks).
Our cast protectors are robust and waterproof and can also be used for swimming or in hydro pools provided some basic common sense precautions are taken.
Bath Boards
Bath boards sit across the rim of the bath forming a seat at the rim level of the bath. This product is useful if the user finds it difficult to actually lower themselves into the bath.
Often bath boards are used in conjunction with grab rails on the wall or the side of the bath. Some bath boards have a handle incorporated into the board which should be placed furthest away from the edge used to get on to the bath board. This handle can be used to give you extra support and leverage when getting on and off the board. It is also recommended to have a non-slip bath mat under your feet.
Bath or Tub Seats
Bath or tub seats usually sit on the bottom of the bath tub. Bath seats can be used either on their own or in conjunction with other bathing equipment such as bath boards. You can use a bath seat as a stepping stone to move onto the bottom of the bath and move the seat out of the way until it is needed again for getting out. Alternatively you can stay on the seat, whilst bathing.
Bath tub seats come ina range of different heights and styles to best suit your needs.
Shower Chairs, Seats and Stools
Shower chairs, seats and stools are designed for use in the bathroom, shower and wet room. They can be free standing, with or without backs, wheeled, or fixed to a wall if space is limited.
Bath Steps
Bath steps provide a slip resistant platform on the outside of the bath to reduce the height over which you need to lift your legs to get into the bath. A bath step should be used in conjuction with a grab rail or bath tub rail in order to offer sufficient support.
Grab and Hand Rails
Grab and hand rails can be positioned around the home where you need extra support and reassurance or need to carry out difficult physical activity. They are very commonly used in the bathroom to assist with bathing and toileting or by a doorway for instance where there may be a step or two to negotiate.
Bath grab rails clamp onto the side of the bath providing a vertical loop, which sticks up above the bath rim. The clamp secures to the side of the bath with a pressure fit which is applied when tightening up the fixing mechanism.
Bath tap grab rails clamp around the bath taps and folds down to rest on the bath rim. It can be folded up against the wall when not required. When sitting in the bath, the rail will be directly in front of the person at about chest height. In this position it will provide stability whilst in the bath and is at an ideal level to help with sitting up whilst in the bath. In order to fit this type of grab rail, you need to have two separate taps – a mixer tap is not suitable.
It is recommended that hand rails and grab bars are fixed using fittings that are designed for the type of wall or material that they are to be mounted on. |
